Jefferson Ready Start

La Voz de la Comunidad Coalition supports Jefferson Parish’s Jefferson Ready Start Network (JSN) program, which provides access to early childhood classes with culturally and linguistically relevant and appropriate instruction.

This important program helps increase access for Latino Families to place their children in JRSN early childhood educaiton seats.   The JRSN program provides our Latino families with access to subsidized childcare for children 6 weeks to 4 years old.  LA Voz aims to increase our Hispanic community’s access to high-quality early childhood education with this partnership.

-Supporting the Jefferson Common Enrollment team to get more Latino families with young children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old.

-Provide native Spanish-speaking staff to assist Latino families who wish to complete applications for the upcoming school year.

-Establish pilot programs that create more child care seats for children from Latino families.

-Engage trusted Latino community partners and stakeholders to recruit Latino families of young children ages 6 weeks to 4 years old to attend informational/educational events and enrollment events.

-Work closely with Spanish-language media to raise awareness of early childhood education opportuties within our Latino communities

-Assist Latino families complete all necessary steps to secure seats once lottery placement is completed.
